A couple times in the last week, the car has completely refused to unlock when using the key button.
I got the spare out (which had never been used) and that didn't work either.
I got in by using the emergency key, which set the alarm off briefly until I put the key in the cup holder and turned on the ignition.
After doing this, both keys worked entirely normally again, even from significant distance from the car (and I had no dashboard warnings to change the key battery like I did a few months back, when I did need to change the battery). I assumed it was a glitch and carried on.
Roll on a couple of days, and this morning it did exactly the same, again requiring me to use the emergency manual key and set the alarm off to get in and then drive to work.
I checked at lunch and it's still fine at the moment, but I suspect this is the start of a fault that may become more frequent.
Has anyone else had something similar resolved by a dealer (wondering what this will cost, as warranty expired at the end of March)?

I have the similar problem where one of my keys seems to operate keyless entry better than the other. They both will unlock and lock with the button on the key fob so not as an issue as you. Will keep you posted if anything changes.

Strangely, my issue seems to have self-cured.
I didn't drive the car for a week or so, due to an eye injury and when I went to open it for the first time afterwards, much to my surprise, it worked fine off the fob and has done every time since.
Weird!

Sometimes the car's electronics or programming can glitch, especially if the fobs are getting old. If your warranty’s up change the battery, if not, a dealer diagnosis could pinpoint the issue, but yeah, it might get pricey.
