Re: Octopus Intelligent Go - always charges when plugged in for a few minutes
going back the the original question, a short charge just for a few minutes wont damage the battery. (most AC home chargers are 'only' 7kw, it is frequent high current DC charging to high %'s that is more likely to degrade it over time). the initial charge you see is while the car 'talks' to octopus...

Re: User profile functionality
It's purpose is solely to annoy the people using it as far as I can see. yup its pointless & annoying for most people, especially when a car only has one driver and the screen stays 'stuck' there when you drive off. VW claim it is for GDPR compliance reasons - which is nonsense, GDPR can effect...

Re: @# black gloss (piano black)
i was concerned about it too, but after almost 18months it's wearing ok with not noticeable scratches, but it is a finger print magnet and the sun glare bouncing off it at times (esp with low sun were having now) can be really bad. i wish they'd just gone for matt black its far more practical. you c...

Re: VW App - "Ready for vehicle software updates and more improvements?"
I've not had that in the app (but i did give the permission ages ago). but, this morning i got n email from Volkswagen saying my car was ready for a software update to 3.2 OTA! (my cars been on 3.1 for well over a year so i assumed it was going to have to be a dealer upgrade along with the service t...

Re: Granny charging with 3 pin plug - limited to 5amps?
I've got a 3pin 'granny' charger cable for emergencies (its the Masterplug one sold @ screwfix) and normally get 10A from it when plugged in.

Re: Tyre Inflation Kit
i got a genuine vw compressor on ebay and also a Holts Tyreweld sealing kit can from Tesco when it was on offer recently at £5 (its washable so the tyres can be repaired/reused unlike some other cans of sealant on sale) - VW wanted £30 for their can. https://www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/27...

Mines still on 3.1 the only update has been the recent store app update last week (pushing adverts!) nothing related to updating the car itself.

Re: Tyre Inflation Kit
my id.4 (life) came with Bridgestone tyres (they are not self sealing or run flat tyres) and no trye inflator or repair kit. i had a run around with VW over it , they said talk to the dealer, the dealer said the car was as VW supplied it (they do not add the repair kit as part of the pre del inspect...

Re: Faulty Infotainment
I’m battling with VW UK about this problem too. It began on April 11th 2024 after my iPhone auto updated to the latest IOS. Infotainment reboots every 3-5 minutes on most journeys. I can only assume this is the problem, as when they’ve had the car for tests they have been unable to replicate the fa...

@jamesj98 Assuming its the current model, then this link should take you to that model spec on vw's web site, then click on 'show all standard equipment' on that page https://www.volkswagen.co.uk/en/configurator.html/__app/302901/id-4-pro/style.app?---=%7B%22filter-service%22%3A%22%2F%3FengineType%3...
