Good Afternoon
I have recently taken delivery of an ID4 and found that there is no tyre Inflation kit in the boot. Anyone else have this missing? The user manual mentions a kit but no sign of it being in the car.
Thanks
Tyre Inflation Kit
my id.4 (life) came with Bridgestone tyres (they are not self sealing or run flat tyres) and no trye inflator or repair kit.
i had a run around with VW over it , they said talk to the dealer, the dealer said the car was as VW supplied it (they do not add the repair kit as part of the pre del inspection) ... eventually after an 'investigation' (that took a few weeks) VW customer service just said that was how the car is supplied and weren't prepared to supply the kit.
i was not impressed.

Had this issue when I bought a new ID3 Family in October 2022, the online brochure (which I printed out) listed East Derry alloys, which I paid £600 extra for, allegedly came with 18" Bridgestone run flat tyres. Bridgestone have never made 18" run flat tyres and the car did not come with a tyre repair outfit. It took me weeks to wrangle one out of the dealer via Customer Service. Some people were compensated the cost of the East Derry alloys.MikeS wrote: ↑Tue Jul 23, 2024 10:49 am my id.4 (life) came with Bridgestone tyres (they are not self sealing or run flat tyres) and no trye inflator or repair kit.

VW UK are experts at not fulfilling what you expect to get with a car, my GTX has not come with BLIS and 5 weeks after I pointed it out, they still cannot confirm whether it should be fitted, the delay being blamed on "Products". Lets be right here, VW do not know what the cars they produce and sell should have on them? My car has come with Pirelli Scorpion run flat tyres and hence no tyre repair kit despite it being listed as standard equipment on the online sales listing provided by VW. I have seen some ID4s listed as having rev counters so clearly the dealers do not actually check the sales details before posting them. My old ID3 is currently listed on the dealers VW listing as having BLIS fitted, after 22 months of ownership, I can confirm it did not and although VWCS know about it, they have done nothing to correct the false advertising. Trading Standards may look at it differently.
I like my car a lot, I do not like the dealers and I consider VW CS to be nothing short of a misnomer.

Hi all
To provide and update. Apparently the 2024 GTX modole which I have, does not come with the tyerinflation kit due to it having self sealing tyres. The 2025 cars will go back to normal. Tyres and have the kit. That is from VW via my works fleet management company.
I will buy a small one anyway, any recommendations?

i got a genuine vw compressor on ebay and also a Holts Tyreweld sealing kit can from Tesco when it was on offer recently at £5 (its washable so the tyres can be repaired/reused unlike some other cans of sealant on sale) - VW wanted £30 for their can.

Info: when I got pressure low warning I initially pumped up, reset and continued. Same tyre gave low pressure warning six days later. Realised I must have an issue so took to Kwik Fit and they found nail. They explained that thankfully I hadn’t tried to use OEM sealant on self seal tyres as it “screws those tyres up”. They removed nail and pumped tyre back up for £27. It has held now for 8 months. I suggest think carefully before using additional sealant as it reduces your options thereafter in my limited experience.
