What does this symbol mean?

Does any one know what this symbol on the infotainment screen mean? It comes on when in the our drive and stays there for most of the journey. But when starting from somewhere else I see the normal 4G symbol. Just interested.

Looks like it's the car sending Car2X data even though it is in offline mode. There's a bit more information about it in the car's manual.

I couldn't find the symbol wherever I looked. I suspected it was hiding somewhere in the VW info.
