After a few days of being offered the 3.7 update I started it and locked the car. I came back after 5 hours and the key fob wasn’t working. I left it for another 2 hours and tried again, still nothing. I forced myself into the car using the mechanical key and everything is off apart from the lights on the doors and the ‘start engine’ button. I don’t know how to start it.
I checked the 12V battery and it was at 12.6V. I connected a 12V charger just to be on the safe side.
What should I do? Maybe try and disconnect the 12V battery?

Presume you’ve contacted VW service department by now or you got it going.
If not, do it.
