Maps and Waze not displaying after we charge update

The recent We Charge map update coincided with Apple Maps and Waze not displaying (presumably others like TomTom were the same) in the split screen in CarPlay. Did anyone else experience this? I’m not sure we charge caused it, it could’ve been a coincidence. All I was getting were the app icons and no maps.
However, if this is a case for you I think I have a solution. I restarted my iPhone and all seems to be fine again. Could’ve been anything but seemed to be around the time of last weeks we charge software update.
