Does anyone know whether a notification is shown on the main screen, when not on telephone screen, that shows you’ve received a text message.

I've just tried it in my ID5. I was on the Media screen. No notification at all when the SMS came in, not even audio. It is there in Messages, in the Telephone screen.

All my other recent vehicles have shown the text directly on receipt whatever screen I may have been in, and it's a very restrained driver that can resist taking their eyes off the road.....

I would say this is safer, though an audible beep might have ben nice.

Thanks for checking, I agree an audio indication would be good, but an icon, then use ‘hello id’ to read it

It seems to work for me. I've noticed this on several occasions. I've just been out to the car to do a test run and here's what comes up. I had the radio on with nav in my main screen and when the text arrived, the background reverted to the last app I had used in CarPlay.
