I don't know if you've tried again yet, but I have an ID4 Pro and MyEnergy(Zappi) charger and am now on intelligent octopus
It took some emails to tech support to get it going, but it is now working (although I'm not 100% sure the intelligent bit is - but at least I'm getting the prices)

So, I’ve been tracking this thread for a while and I’m just about to jump towards Octopus Intelligent with a Pod Point charger. The car is ID4 2022 model on version 3.2.4 software. Any flags or concerns that anybody can think of?

Update: moved from SP to Octopus without much fuss. Context : we were born well before England won the World Cup.
In case it helps, this worked for us:
When you join Octopus you start on their flexible variable tariff. To move onto their specialised EV Tariff you have to connect the car to Octopus; then conduct a test charge; and then they move you onto 'Inteligent Tariff' which is 7.5p per kw between 23:30 and 05:30 daily at the moment (note this is variable).
We registered our ID4 Pure first,; then the charger (Pod Point) - with the Octopus app. The Octopus app then talks to VW account and the we connect app to verify you have an EV car. No issues with that. The next bit worked best for us over 4G (not wifi).
You need the phone AND the Octopus app 'Location enabled'. Then
Your car Location settings are buried in the Privacy settings of the 'User' which you can access as you 'wake-the-car-up'. The car needs to be Location enabled as well.
Once both sides enabled, the next phase is for the Octopus App to "locate your car". This took two attempts, but we suspect weak 4G signal the cause. Once the Octopus app has found your car it adds it as a "device" within the Octopus app (took about 15 mins to appear), and subseqently it creates subset billing for that device.
Before the 'device' outcome, the Octopus app needs to conduct a critical 'Test Charge' for approx 7 mins - hence you need battery capacity (space to charge) and your cable attached to the charger and car. This HAS to work before the transition to new Tariff can be completed. Again for us it took two attempts. Info: you can hear the car clicking to start and finish even though on manual charge immediately.
Finally, don't forget to set your car side charge 'preferred start and end times' to coincide with Octopus cheap tariff.
Our second ID4 is running 2.3.2 software, and so does not have Users yet. ..........we await our second attempt to connect a second device to Octopus after 3.0 OTA. Might be a long wait?
Good support from Octopus, unlike our Scottish supplier experience.
Once again, hope it helps. Ignore if not.

Great post and very helpful, as I suspected, it’s my FW version that’s stopping my progress.

Update after three months:
Still charging consistently. Really love the combination of 7.5p/kw and ‘preferred charge window’ setting. No regrets. 52kw battery full charge for £3.90 - what’s not to like?

Morning. Have the car in with VW today for the 3.2.* update, will post on here once I've got the vehicle back and had a chance to set things up tomorrow.

Afternoon.
Got updated to 3.2.0 and set my user up with location services allowed and set home as a charing location, but Octopus isn't "finding" my vehicle. I have noticed that in the My VW app, when I click on the Car icon in the Map view, it says "Vehicle location not available".
I was reading your handy guide, Bedford EV, but I couldn't see where to enable location services for the vehicle itself? I think this is autromatically enabled as I always leave the car in "online mode" and I have definitely enabled location services and data for my user account, which is the only one active.
Cheers
