Drivers door opens on its own

This has happened to me today in my iD5.

About 3 mins into the day's second drive, the driver's door opened on its own. Not fully wide open, but enough to switch on the interior light and trigger the "Error: Auto Hold" fault. The door was held in a latch but plenty of wind noise and **very** disconcerting. I stopped, pulled the door to and continued, still with AutoHold error. Stopped later, got out and back in, then error was gone and so far no recurrance.

We are on holiday in Somerset currently, and will contact the dealer on return to Yorks. It's due an update to 3.2 anyway, but I was planning to wait until its first service, in July.

From what I can see, several have been told a software patch is the fix, and many others have had door parts replaced. Some have referenced water ingress as a possible cause. I've seen reference to a related recall in the US. It's certainly not an uncommon problem....

Has anyone here who's had this issue had a successful resolution?

This is a mobility vehicle. I contacted VW Cardiff. They told me they couldn't do anything about it until march. And the only other thing that I could do is to contact motability operations who would then put me in touch with the RAC who could come out and do a diagnostic test.
Just a quick update, the door handle was changed. Also had firmware updates. Have had the car back just over a week and everything seems hunky-dory. Fingers crossed.

I just picked up a 2022 52kwh Pure (my first EV) and the same thing is happening to my car. It's going back to the dealers next week and they're providing me with a loan car. How long does the fix take? Any reoccurrence after the door handle replacement?

Mine took about 6 weeks to repair but mine is a motability vehicle and I don't think they look at that as an urgent fix. Hopefully you will get yours back sooner
