I'm considering buying the ID.4 GTX, but I've noticed that its performance, especially in the GTX version, has faced quite a bit of criticism—especially when compared to other premium EVs. I’m not saying that trying to match Tesla’s Ludicrous Mode is necessary; after all, very few people need a 0-60 mph time of 3 seconds. However, many of its competitors are achieving 0-60 times around 5 seconds or less for their sportier models, which, to me, is where a car starts to feel genuinely quick.
My question is: how likely is it that performance could be improved through software updates alone? Is it possible that the motors aren't operating at full capacity across the entire acceleration range? I’m not overly hopeful—300 bhp pushing a hefty 2200 kg does make a 6-second 0-60 seem reasonable, and going any faster would probably require more power and torque. But I'd love to hear any insights or thoughts on this.
